Genesis 11

What a great day!   I love to see new faces that are interested in internationalmissions.   We had a dynamic turnoutfrom students and adults that are interested in the Go Zimbabwe trip for 2009. As I sit here and read and study the Bible chronologically Iam pointed towards the passage in Genesis 11, “The tower of Babel.”   I am often convicted of my selfishnessand how in life I so desire for things to go my way.   It is obvious that the people of this day and age in Genesis11 were much...

Philemon

This is absolutelymy favorite time of the year!!!   Ipray that everyone is doing well and we are beginning to prepare our hearts forthe upcoming baptism / Lord’s Supper service that is approaching on the 21 st .   I wanted to share some thoughts withyou from my quiet time this morning.   I was reading in Philemon and I was challenged in the way I personallyview non-believers and people in general.   Certainly my views of people have dramatically changed over my life, butthis passage is such...

Luke 24

FINAL THOUGHTS FROM CHRIST    I believe that one of the greatest struggles that we have as believers have is with the understanding that our lives are suppose to look like Christ.  We see how Christ is the Son of God and how He is perfect and at times you and I through our hands in the air and just proclaim, “I can’t do it.”  Typically, once that occurs in my life, I am reminded through the Word of God about sanctification.  What a deep word but what an encouraging word.  Sanctification...

Seeking His Kingdom!

Wow!  What an amazing Sunday!  I have been so blessed by the truth that Chip Henderson has been sharing with the Lifepoint Church family.  My prayer this morning is that you would be engaged with what God is doing through Chip and through Lifepoint Church.  This morning, as I was reading in the word of God, I was so challenged by the continued struggles within our country and within our county.  I was reading in Luke 12:22-34 about Jesus’ warning about worry and how worry should be handled...

Isaiah 50

I love the phrase; “Thus says the LORD!”  Every time I read this phrase in scripture it encourages me. I am encouraged because our living God thought enough of us, His people, to give us great instruction and encouragement through His living and breathing Word.  As I sat at my kitchen table this morning I am so reminded how alive our God really is.  As I opened the pages of scripture in Isaiah 50, His words leap from the page; “Thus says the LORD!”  As I read and meditated on this passage of...

Psalm 115: 9-13

I want to challenge each of my readers to make God’s word the focal point of your life!   I know that if I do not spend time with Him each morning it is me that is missing out.  Spending time with God or not spending time with God has nothing to do with completing a task or failure to accomplish a task.  Spending time with God has nothing to do with checking off an entry on a list of spiritual disciplines or not being able to check that off your list when you do not meet with Him. ...

Romans 15

Wow!  I am sitting here studying for Spiritual Formation and I just keep feeling overwhelmed at how great is our God.  I was reading the other day in Romans 15 and I was journaling a few thoughts about self denial on behalf of others.  In Romans 15 it says, Now we who are strong ought to bear weakness of those without strength and not just please ourselves.  Each if us is to please his neighbor for his good, to his edification.  For even Christ did not please Himself;...

Romans 5:1 (Introduction)

So what is a blog??? A blog is a website where entries are made in journal style and displayed in a reverse chronological order so here goes...Today has been challenging but I am reminded through the word of GOD in Romans 5,  "Having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into His grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God."  Wow, isn't it great that we have...
